My friends know that I’m obsessed with PeopleOfWalmart.com. That was, until I discovered UgliestTattoos.com. It’s the sweet spot of lowbrow. The bullseye of trashy. The chewy center of bad decisions. Believe me, this website is guaranteed to leave you scratching your head in confusion and asking yourself, “Why?”
If only I could have back the countless hours I’ve spent sifting through the People of Walmart website! I guess I’d probably spend them on my previous addiction to Awful Plastic Surgery (FTR: my addiction was enabled by the talented and hilarious Kristy W).
The photos on People of WalMart are amazing and the copywriting is brilliant. It satisfies your people-watching craving without the painful trip to WalMart, or, um, MalWart (as I like to call it). Bingo anyone?
I love the stop motion style of this video by director Ben Wheatley. Del Mak and Tommy Franzen are the breakers, and get down to some serious battling in this video. Enjoy!
Wow! Bacon World. I’m stunned by these photographs by London photographer Carl Warner. It’s not unlike the recent “Beef. It’s What’s for Dinner” campaign here in the States. But, much better craftsmanship and much more surreal (and disgusting). I gotta give props to the artistic value of these amazing photos, but all that raw pork and cold cuts kinda grosses me out.
Is there anything truly more sexy than bacon-on-bacon? Bacon Explosion is the mother of all caloric intakes (and definitely requires a nap). This is by far one of the most disgustingly delicious things I’ve ever seen. Also, it’s interesting to note the role that Social Media applications played in the advent and popularity of this dish.
Spotted on Twitter by @brharrison. Breakfast at your house, Brian!?
Here’s another goodie by designer/commedian/geek Zefrank. This web-based app allows you to draw with sounds captured through your computer mic. Try playing with volume and pitch to get the line to turn in a different direction. It’s also fun to let it go for awhile to some music. I dare you to try to draw an image of something representational. Go ahead, give it a try. Fun stuff, Ze.
Check out this amazing laminated hardwood Vespa scooter built by Portuguese craftsman Carlos Alberto. The Jalopnik blog mentions that “Realistically though, we’re betting this Vespa is now quite a few pounds heftier than when it started out, and the original was not known for its swiftness so despite it’s beauty it’s probably kind of a pig in the performance department. Then again, if something looks that good, we’ll give the zero to sixty times a pass.”
